Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, combine the butter and water, bringing to a boil.

- Pour the boiling butter mixture over the flour mixture and stir until combined.
- Add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and almond extract, mixing well.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Frosting
- For frosting, beat together butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
Serving
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Can be served with fresh berries, vanilla ice cream, or a dollop of whipped cream. For storage, cover with plastic wrap or keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week.
