For the hot chocolate

  • 1½–2 cups milk or chocolate milk Adjust based on preference.
  • 1 packet hot cocoa mix or 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup Optional for extra chocolate flavor.
  • Mini marshmallows, sprinkles, or chocolate shavings for garnish Garnish options are customizable.

Preparation

  • Chill your mixing bowl and whisk or beaters for 10 minutes.
  • In the chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder until soft peaks form.

Cooking

  • Meanwhile, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in cocoa mix or syrup if using, and whisk until smooth and hot.

Serving

  • Pour the hot chocolate into a mug, leaving space for the topping.
  • Spoon or pipe the chocolate whipped cream on top.
  • Garnish with toppings of your choice and serve immediately.

Notes

For variations, try adding cayenne pepper for spice, peppermint extract for a minty flavor, or orange zest for a citrus twist. This drink is not recommended for freezing as the texture can change.
