  • 3–4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
  • 5–6 pepperoncini peppers Optional: a splash of pepperoncini juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chuck roast in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and au jus mix evenly over the top.
  3. Add the stick of butter right on top of the roast.
  4. Place pepperoncini peppers around the meat, adding a little juice if you like extra tang.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours or until the roast is tender and falling apart.
Serving
  1. Shred the meat with two forks, mix with the juices, and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

Leftover Viral Southern Roast can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container. For long-term storage, freeze for up to three months. Optional tips include adding smoked bacon for extra flavor and spices for a kick.
