  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Use milk, dark, or white chocolate
  • 1/2 cup Colorful sprinkles Reserve some for topping

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in chocolate chips and half of the sprinkles, reserving some for topping.
  • Spread the batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the reserved sprinkles on top.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow bars to cool in the dish for 10-15 minutes before lifting out with parchment paper and slicing into squares.

Notes

For variations, you can add nuts or different flavored chocolate chips. Always check for doneness as oven temperatures vary.
