Ingredients
  

For the burger patties

  • 1 lb ground beef Use 80/20 ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

For assembly

  • 4 pieces hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves For topping
  • Tomato slices For topping
  • Cheese slices (optional) Add during grilling if desired.
  • Ketchup For topping
  • Mustard For topping

Preparation

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Shape the mixture into 4 equally sized patties.

Cooking

  • Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  • During the last minute of grilling, add cheese slices on top of the patties if using.
  • Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute.

Assembly

  • Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun and topping with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mustard.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For a complete meal, serve with crispy fries or coleslaw. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
