Ingredients
  

For the Egg Rolls
  • 6 pieces egg roll wrappers
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Feel free to use flavored cream cheese for a twist!
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese A mix of both adds extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your frying oil to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and shredded cheese. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
  3. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon some of the cheese mixture onto the center.
  4. Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and then roll tightly, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Cooking
  1. Carefully place the filled egg rolls into the hot oil and fry until they turn a lovely golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  3. Serve them hot with a side of honey for dipping!

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the frying pan to ensure even cooking. Test the oil temperature with a small piece of batter; it should sizzle when ready. Experiment with spices or add diced jalapeños for a spicy kick!
