Preparation
- Preheat your frying oil to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and shredded cheese. Mix thoroughly until smooth.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface. Spoon some of the cheese mixture onto the center.
- Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and then roll tightly, sealing the edges with a bit of water.
- Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
Cooking
- Carefully place the filled egg rolls into the hot oil and fry until they turn a lovely golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve them hot with a side of honey for dipping!
Notes
Don’t overcrowd the frying pan to ensure even cooking. Test the oil temperature with a small piece of batter; it should sizzle when ready. Experiment with spices or add diced jalapeños for a spicy kick!
