  • 1 lb ground beef You can substitute with turkey or a vegetarian alternative.
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
Sauces and Seasonings
  • 2 tbsp olive oil For cooking the onion.
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, and mustard, mixing well.
  4. Top the beef mixture with frozen tater tots evenly across the surface.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook on medium heat until tater tots are golden and cheese is melted, about 25-30 minutes.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months.
