  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened for better mixing
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Should be at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use milk or dark chocolate chips based on preference

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  • Gradually add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, and baking soda.
  • Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them out.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let them cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies are best served warm. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage.
