  • 1 package yellow cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 can strawberry pie filling (21 oz)
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 oz) Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional) For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans before adding them on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the baking pan.
  3. Cut the cream cheese into small cubes and scatter over the pie filling.
  4. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the cream cheese.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly on top of the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped fresh strawberries and pecans (if using) over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, serve with whipped cream.

Notes

For an even more delightful experience, consider serving with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to three days.
