Dough ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened.
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Powdered sugar

Fillings

  • 8 oz Cream cheese Use low-fat cream cheese for a lighter option if desired.
  • 1 cup Fresh strawberries, chopped Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and powdered sugar.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until well combined.
  • Fold in the cream cheese and chopped strawberries.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve slightly warm on their own or with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to a month.
