Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
Assembly
- Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer, then sprinkle chopped strawberries evenly on top.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over, gently spreading to cover the entire surface.
- Use a knife or skewer to swirl the layers together for a marbled effect.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature. Can be paired with ice cream or whipped cream. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They can be reheated in the microwave, or frozen for longer storage.
