Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 box box (13.25 oz) of any store-bought vanilla cake mix Any flavor of cake mix can be used.
  • cup neutral oil (like vegetable, avocado, or canola)
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)

For the Buttercream

  • 1 cup powdered sugar No need to sift, just stir until smooth.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tsp milk Add more if needed.

For Coating

  • 12 oz candy melts Use pink and other colors as desired.
  • to taste white nonpareils or sprinkles For decoration.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 325-350℉ (162-175℃) based on the cake box instructions.
  • In a large bowl, combine all the cake ingredients and pour the batter into a greased or lined baking pan.
  • Bake the cake and start checking with a toothpick 2-4 minutes before the suggested bake time.
  • When the cake is done, remove it from the oven and transfer to a mixing bowl while still hot. Crumble into small pieces.

Making Buttercream

  • In a small bowl, mix all the buttercream ingredients until smooth.
  • Combine the buttercream with the crumbled cake, mixing well.

Forming Cake Pops

  • Roll the mixture into balls about 1¼-inch (3cm) in diameter, approximately 30g each.
  • Chill in the freezer for 15 minutes, then let warm at room temperature for 10 minutes.

Coating Cake Pops

  • Melt a small amount of pink candy melts in the microwave, stirring every 15-30 seconds until smooth.
  • Dip the tips of the lollipop sticks in the melted candy and insert halfway into the cake balls.
  • Chill the cake pops in the freezer for another 15 minutes.
  • Melt the remaining candy melts and dip each cake pop, ensuring a full coating.
  • Tap off excess melted candy and quickly decorate with sprinkles before the coating sets.
  • Place finished cake pops in a styrofoam block to keep upright while drying.

Notes

Make sure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling to avoid adding too much moisture. You can customize the flavors with different extracts and colors.
