Sour Cream Biscuits

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups Bisquick A pre-mixed baking mix.
  • 4 cups Flour For dusting and additional dough consistency.
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 6 tsp Baking Powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sour Cream Daisy Sour Cream preferred.
  • 1 cup Sprite Can use 7-Up for variation.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
  • Cut the butter into 6-8 slices and place them in a glass 9×13 baking dish.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, then set the pan aside with the melted butter.
  • In a large mixing bowl, measure out 4 cups of Bisquick.
  • Add 1 cup of sour cream and dollop it into the Bisquick for even distribution.
  • Pour in 1 cup of Lemon Lime Soda (Sprite works well).
  • Stir the mixture until all ingredients are combined; the dough will be sticky and clumpy.

Shaping and Baking

  • Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of flour on a clean surface and place the dough on top.
  • Pat out the dough to about 1 inch thick, adding more flour if it sticks.
  • Use a circle cutter to cut out biscuits, or a knife to cut into squares.
  • Place the biscuits into the 9×13 pan with melted butter.
  • Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

Best served warm with butter, honey, or jam. Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
