  • 3.75 cups powdered sugar plus extra for dusting Sifted to avoid lumps.
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract Adjust according to taste.
  • Red and green food coloring gel (preferred) For coloring the dough.
  • Granulated sugar For coating.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and sweetened condensed milk until a thick dough forms.
  2. Stir in the peppermint extract thoroughly.
  3. Divide the dough into three equal parts. Leave one part plain, color one part red and the other green using food coloring gel.
  4. Roll each colored dough into small balls or desired shapes.
  5. Lightly dust your hands and work surface with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
  6. Roll each piece in granulated sugar to coat evenly.
  7. Place the coated peppermint balls on a lined baking sheet and let them set for at least 2 hours at room temperature or until firm but soft.
  8. Store in an airtight container to keep soft and fresh.

Serve as delightful treats after dinner or alongside holiday cookies. Store in an airtight container. Optionally refrigerate or freeze for longer storage. If dough is too sticky, dust with powdered sugar.
