Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Can substitute with margarine or coconut oil.
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips Feel free to use different types of chocolate chips.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just incorporated.
  6. If desired, stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop generous spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden.
Cooling
  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened at room temperature. Don’t overmix the dough. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
