  • 4 pieces fresh habanero peppers (stemmed and chopped)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup lime juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
  • Stir in the chopped habanero peppers and cook for a few minutes.
  • Add the apple cider vinegar, lime juice, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Remove from heat and let the sauce cool.
  • Blend the mixture until smooth. You can strain it if you want a smoother texture.

Notes

Wear gloves when handling habanero peppers to avoid burning your skin. Taste the sauce before blending; you can adjust the seasonings if desired. For a milder sauce, use fewer habanero peppers or add more vinegar and lime juice.
