Method
 

Preparation
  1. Choose 1-2 ripe, bright, slightly soft, fragrant, and juicy tomatoes. Heirloom tomatoes are recommended for best flavor.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice the tomatoes into thick rounds, wedges, or half-moons.
  3. Arrange the sliced tomatoes neatly on a plate or serving platter.
  4. Season generously with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  5. Optionally, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, add a splash of balsamic glaze, crumble feta or goat cheese, and sprinkle with fresh herbs (basil, parsley, chives).
  6. Serve immediately, optionally with thick slices of crusty bread.

Notes

These tomatoes can be served as an appetizer or side dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. Best enjoyed fresh.
