Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables Feel free to customize with available veggies.
  • 1 cup beef broth Can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth.
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Topping
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can experiment with other cheeses.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Once the beef is browned, add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion becomes translucent.
  4. Mix in the frozen vegetables, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Let this simmer for about 10 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  2. Layer the mashed potatoes on top, ensuring they cover the beef completely.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat to 165°F (74°C) when serving.
