Preparation
- In a bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the patties on both sides.
Gravy
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced mushrooms and onions until soft, then add beef broth and simmer.
Mashed Potatoes
- Cook potatoes in boiling water until soft, then mash with butter and milk.
Serving
- Serve Salisbury steaks with garlic mashed potatoes and pour the mushroom & onion gravy over the top.
Notes
Serve with a side of steamed green vegetables or a fresh garden salad. Warm crusty bread is a great addition to soak up the gravy. A dollop of sour cream on the mashed potatoes can elevate the flavor.
