  • 1 pound Fresh Brussels sprouts Trimmed and halved
  • 4 ounces High-quality bacon (smoked or pancetta) Chopped into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Local honey recommended for added flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or melted butter For coating the Brussels sprouts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper To taste

  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar For extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper For added spice

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Trim the stem tips and slice them in half.
  • In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  • Chop the bacon into small pieces and add to the bowl, mixing to ensure even distribution.
  • Spread the mixture on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
  • Drizzle honey over the Brussels sprouts in the last 5-10 minutes of roasting, tossing gently to coat.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the pan when roasting, and remember to season well with salt and pepper. For leftovers, reheat in the oven for crispiness.
