Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows Mini or regular marshmallows work, flavored versions like vanilla or caramel can be used.
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal Crispy brown rice cereal can be used for a healthier option.

Decorative Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate melts or chocolate chips Use milk chocolate for sweetness, or dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
  • 1 package pretzel sticks These serve as antlers, can be swapped for broken pretzel pieces.
  • 1 cup red candies Choose from M&Ms, red gumdrops, or any colorful candy for noses.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted and smooth.
  • Remove the pan from heat, and stir in the Rice Krispies gently until evenly coated.
  • While the mixture is still warm, press it into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes.

Decoration

  • Once cooled, cut the treats into squares.
  • Melt your chocolate according to package instructions. Drizzle or spread it on top of each square to create a 'nose.' Stick a red candy onto the melted chocolate.
  • Insert pretzel sticks into the tops of each treat to form antlers.
  • Optionally, sprinkle festive sprinkles for extra flair.

Notes

Always use low heat to prevent burning the marshmallows. Using a non-stick spray on your spatula can simplify spreading the mixture.
