Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a tray with parchment or silicone mat.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, and golden syrup together.
- Stir in the flour, sliced almonds, candied orange peel, and vanilla extract.
- Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto the tray, spaced 3 inches apart.
- Lightly flatten each mound with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 6–8 minutes until golden and lacy.
- Cool completely.
- Dip the bottoms in melted chocolate and let them set.
- Arrange on a plate or gift in a box for a classy treat.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week. To freeze, wrap each cookie in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag.
