Ingredients
  

Dough Base

  • 1.5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 stick butter to be melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk

Peach Filling

  • 28 ounces sliced peaches in heavy syrup (not drained)
  • Ground cinnamon (optional) for additional flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the stick of butter in a 3-quart baking dish and put it in the oven to melt.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and milk until well combined.

Assembly

  • Once the butter is melted, carefully pour the batter over it in the baking dish. Do not stir!
  • Spoon the peach slices over the batter and slowly pour the syrup on top. If desired, sprinkle some ground cinnamon for extra flavor.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Serving

  • Serve while warm, and enjoy with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. Use fresh peaches for the best flavor, and consider experimenting with spices or adding nuts for a twist.
