Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree Make sure it’s plain and not pumpkin pie filling.
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour For a healthier option, use oat flour or almond flour.
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Ensure it contains no xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Optional, adds a warm flavor.
  • 1 large egg Helps bind ingredients together; can substitute with unsweetened applesauce for a vegan option.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, whole wheat flour, peanut butter, and egg.
  • Mix until a dough forms; knead gently to blend.
  • Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and use cookie cutters to create fun shapes.
  • Place the cutouts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes until the edges turn golden brown. For extra crunchiness, leave them in slightly longer.
  • Allow treats to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Check baking time after 25 minutes; adjust time for softer treats. Avoid adding too much flour for the right texture.
