Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the can of baked beans and pour them into a saucepan. Stir in the tomato sauce and heat over medium heat until warmed through.
- Toast the bread slices until golden and crispy. Place them on a baking sheet or oven-safe dish.
Assembly
- Spoon the warm baked beans onto each slice of toast, spreading them evenly.
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the beans and place the toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle dried oregano on top for that pizza-like flavor.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is still melty and the toast is crispy.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. When reheating, place them in the oven at a low temperature until warmed through. For longer storage, freeze the beans mixture separately and assemble the dish when ready to serve.
