  • 2 cups fresh pineapple, diced Use fresh pineapple for best flavor.
  • 2-3 pieces habanero peppers, chopped Adjust based on heat preference.
  • 1/2 cup vinegar (white or apple cider)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Preparation

  • In a blender, combine the diced pineapple, chopped habanero peppers, vinegar, sugar, salt, garlic powder, and lime juice.
  • Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool before transferring to a bottle for storage.

Notes

Store in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. Shake before use. You may add different spices for variation, such as cumin for extra flavor.
