Biscuit Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (Pillsbury brand preferred)
  • 8 sticks mozzarella cheese, each halved crosswise
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Marinara sauce, warmed, for dipping

Preparation and Baking

  • Preheat oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Flatten each biscuit into a disc approximately 8 centimeters in diameter.
  • Place one piece of mozzarella stick in the center of each dough disc.
  • Encase the cheese fully with dough and pinch seams to securely seal.
  • Position filled dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Brush the tops of the dough balls generously with the seasoned butter.
  • Bake in the center of the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  • Serve immediately, accompanied by warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

These cheesy bites pair wonderfully with a fresh garden salad or grilled vegetables. For longer storage, freeze uncooked dough balls before baking. Reheat in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 5 minutes.
