Ingredients
  

For the cake

  • 1 package phyllo pastry
  • 1 cup melted butter for brushing
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Layer sheets of phyllo pastry in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  • In a bowl, mix together the sugar, ricotta cheese, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Pour the ricotta mixture over the layered phyllo.
  • Top with additional layers of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Let cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve on its own or with whipped cream or ice cream. Can store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
