A hearty twist on a classic favorite, this meatloaf combines all the delicious flavors of a traditional Philly cheesesteak into a comforting and easy-to-make dish.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese Sprinkled on top during the last 10 minutes of baking

Vegetables

  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Seasoning

  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, green and red bell peppers, garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper.
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 1 hour, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).
  • During the last 10 minutes of baking, sprinkle the provolone cheese on top and return to the oven until melted.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

To serve, pair with a fresh garden salad, roasted vegetables, or creamy mashed potatoes. Leftover meatloaf can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or frozen for up to 3 months.
