  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Ensure it's fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 cup ground almonds Toasting them can enhance flavor.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup for vegan option.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk Use plant-based milk for vegan option.

For the Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons water Adjust for desired glaze consistency.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, spices, and ground almonds.
  • In another bowl, mix honey, brown sugar, and milk until well combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Let them cool.
  • For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with water until smooth and drizzle over cooled cookies.
  • Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

To store cookies, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. They are best enjoyed fresh within a few days. Can be frozen with parchment paper between layers.
