  • 1 lb beef steak (sliced) Use flank or sirloin for best flavor.
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 onion (sliced)
  • 2 cups macaroni Cook according to package instructions.
  • 2 cups cheese (shredded) Feel free to mix different types for flavor.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter For the cheese sauce.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil For sautéing vegetables.
  • Optional: garlic, Worcestershire sauce Add for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  3. Add sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper, and add garlic or Worcestershire sauce if using.
Making the Cheese Sauce
  1. In a separate pot, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in milk and cheese until melted and smooth.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce, then add the steak and pepper mixture. Stir well to combine and serve hot.

Notes

Serve alongside a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables. Pairs well with garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
