Brownie Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pecan Topping Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1 large egg (for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for topping)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, melt the butter. Stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Mix in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and chocolate chips.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • In another bowl, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, egg, vanilla, and melted butter. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the brownie batter.

Baking

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the center is just set and the topping is golden.
  • Cool completely before slicing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For serving, consider pairing with vanilla ice cream or warm chocolate sauce. They can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerated for 1 week. For longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
