Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup M&M's Reserve a small handful for topping.
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Reserve a small handful for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
  3. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the peanut butter until fully incorporated.
  5. Remove from heat and immediately add the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring gently until evenly coated.
  6. Fold in the M&M's and chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for topping.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press down evenly using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
  8. Sprinkle the reserved M&M's and chocolate chips on top, gently pressing them into the surface.
  9. Let the treats cool and set at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

These treats are best enjoyed within a week, but they can be frozen for longer storage. Serve with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra delight.
