Preparation
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the peanut butter until fully incorporated.
- Remove from heat and immediately add the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring gently until evenly coated.
- Fold in the M&M's and chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for topping.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and press down evenly using a buttered spatula or wax paper.
- Sprinkle the reserved M&M's and chocolate chips on top, gently pressing them into the surface.
- Let the treats cool and set at room temperature for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares.
Notes
These treats are best enjoyed within a week, but they can be frozen for longer storage. Serve with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra delight.
