Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs Best at room temperature
For the peanut butter layer
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Microwave for a few seconds for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
For topping
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Consider walnuts or pecans for added crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
Peanut Butter Layer
  1. In another bowl, combine the peanut butter and powdered sugar until well mixed.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the cake batter and use a knife to swirl it slightly.
Topping and Baking
  1. Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts on top.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For serving, pair with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Drizzle with chocolate sauce for added richness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
