Ingredients
  

For the Peach Filling

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced Make sure to use ripe, fresh peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust sugar based on preferred sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Oat Topping

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon Add a pinch of nutmeg for enhanced flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted This will help the topping become crumbly.
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) Try using pecans or walnuts for added crunch.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla until well-coated. Spread the peach mixture evenly in the baking dish.

Make the Topping

  • In another bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nuts (if using). Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.

Assembly and Baking

  • Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the peaches in the dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35–40 minutes or until the topping is golden and the peach filling bubbles around the edges.
  • Let the crisp rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Peach Crisp is best served warm. Enjoy it plain, or add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top for extra deliciousness! To store leftovers, cover tightly and refrigerate for 3 to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F until heated through.
