Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 475°F with a pizza stone or tray inside.
- Prepare the roasted vegetables, shred the cheese, and wash the basil.
- Roll out the pizza dough into an oval and place it on parchment dusted with semolina.
Cooking
- Bake the dough for 8 minutes, then slice it open and fill it with cheese, roasted veggies, and basil.
- Return the sandwich to the oven and bake for another 6–8 minutes until golden and melted.
- Allow the sandwich to rest for 5 minutes, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Slice and serve hot with optional tomato sauce on the side.
Notes
To store leftovers, place the sandwich in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven for the best results. Frozen unbaked sandwiches can be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil; bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
