Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F with a pizza stone or tray inside.
  2. Prepare the roasted vegetables, shred the cheese, and wash the basil.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough into an oval and place it on parchment dusted with semolina.
Cooking
  1. Bake the dough for 8 minutes, then slice it open and fill it with cheese, roasted veggies, and basil.
  2. Return the sandwich to the oven and bake for another 6–8 minutes until golden and melted.
  3. Allow the sandwich to rest for 5 minutes, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
  4. Slice and serve hot with optional tomato sauce on the side.

Notes

To store leftovers, place the sandwich in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven for the best results. Frozen unbaked sandwiches can be wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil; bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
