Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces fresh peaches Choose ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil or ghee for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon Feel free to experiment with nutmeg or cardamom.
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

Preparation

  • Halve the peaches vertically and remove the stones.

Cooking

  • Melt the unsalted butter in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and salt until well combined.
  • Arrange the peach halves in the pan, cut side down, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, allowing the surface to brown and caramelize.
  • Carefully turn the peach halves and cook the other side for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Serve the hot peaches directly, pairing them as desired with ice cream, yogurt, or pancakes.

Notes

For additional flavor, scrape the bottom of the pan to incorporate the caramelized bits. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
