  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be softened, not melted.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Beaten in one at a time.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark) Choice of chocolate.
  • 10 pieces Oreo cookies, roughly chopped

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped Oreo pieces.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls, spacing them about 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Serving

  • Serve and enjoy! You can serve these cookies warm or at room temperature, optionally pairing them with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature, lasting up to one week. For longer storage, freeze them sealed in a freezer-safe bag or container. To ensure soft cookies, avoid overmixing the dough.
