  • 1 cup sour cream Can substitute with plain yogurt.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 1 large egg Ensure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
For the Frosting
  • Powdered sugar for frosting To taste.
  • Milk for frosting Add gradually until desired consistency.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and sugar, beating until creamy and smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
Baking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased baking sheet, making sure to leave space between each cookie.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are just lightly golden.
Frosting
  1. For the frosting, combine powdered sugar with a splash of milk, whisking until smooth. Drizzle it over the cooled cookies for a sweet finish.
