Ingredients
  

Peach Mixture

  • 4 cups fresh or canned peaches, sliced If using canned, drain well.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Divided into two portions.

Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon (optional, for sprinkling on top)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them. If using canned, drain the peaches well.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches and half of the sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.

Batter Mixing

  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar.
  • Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture. Stir until combined.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir!
  • If desired, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top.
  • Bake in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra sweetness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator, or freeze for up to 2 months.
