Ingredients
  

Peach Mixture

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for the peach mixture
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Batter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar remaining sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Let this sit for a few minutes to release their juices.
  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, remaining sugar, and salt.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk and melted butter until the batter is smooth.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
  • Layer the peach mixture on top without stirring.
  • Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. Reheat as needed.
