Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 1 pound frozen bread dough, thawed Ensure the dough is fully thawed for easier mixing.
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

For the filling

  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling Can be substituted with other pie fillings like blueberry or strawberry.
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

For the cream cheese layer

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Whip until soft peaks form.
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/8 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese Blend until smooth.

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the thawed bread dough, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar to form a dough mixture.
  • Press the dough mixture into the bottom of a baking dish to create a crust.
  • In another bowl, mix together the cherry pie filling and lemon juice; spread this mixture over the crust.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, blend the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Carefully fold in the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cherry layer.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  • Drizzle with additional heavy cream before serving.

Notes

Serve chilled, cut into squares, and optionally drizzle with heavy cream before serving. Keep it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. Chill overnight for better flavor and texture.
