  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with almond extract
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil for frying
Coating Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup sugar For coating
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon For coating

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and gradually pour in the water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for a few minutes on a lightly floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Roll out the dough until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Use a knife or cookie cutter to cut the dough into your desired shapes.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. It should be hot but not smoking.
  2. Carefully place the dough pieces into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown on both sides.
  3. Remove the buns from the pan and drain them on a plate lined with paper towels.
Coating
  1. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. Toss the warm buns in the mixture to coat them evenly.
  2. Serve the buns warm and enjoy the delightful crunch!

Notes
