  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
