Ingredients
  

Onion Rings

  • 2 large large white onions
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Use fresh mozzarella for better melting texture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Add extra herbs for flavor if desired.

Breading and Frying

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs Beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Mixed with 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
  • 1/4 cup butter Melted for frying.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the onions into thick rings and carefully separate the rings.
  • In a bowl, mix together the mozzarella cheese and minced garlic.
  • Stuff the onion rings with the cheese mixture and set aside.

Breading

  • Set up a breading station with separate bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
  • Dip each stuffed onion ring into flour, then the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.

Cooking

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the breaded onion rings until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes for additional crispiness.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. For longer storage, freeze the uncoated stuffed onion rings before frying.
