Ingredients
  

Vegetable Ingredients
  • 2 large large white onions Sweet onions that provide a great flavor.
  • 3 slices mozzarella cheese You can substitute with any melting cheese.
Coating Ingredients
  • 250 g plain flour For dusting the onion rings.
  • 5 large eggs Beaten, for the breading process.
  • 230 g breadcrumbs For the crispy coating.
  • vegetable oil Vegetable oil for deep frying Ensure enough oil for deep frying.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or deep pot to about 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the onions into thick rings and carefully separate them.
  3. Slice the mozzarella into sticks that can fit snugly inside the onion rings.
  4. Set up your breading station with separate bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Breading and Frying
  1. Take an onion ring, stuff it with a mozzarella stick, then dip it in flour, followed by the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs.
  2. Repeat the process until all onion rings are prepped.
  3. Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Once cooked, remove the rings and let them drain on paper towels.
Serving
  1. Serve hot and enjoy them while they are fresh!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 10 minutes.
