Preparation
- Preheat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or deep pot to about 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the onions into thick rings and carefully separate them.
- Slice the mozzarella into sticks that can fit snugly inside the onion rings.
- Set up your breading station with separate bowls for flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
Breading and Frying
- Take an onion ring, stuff it with a mozzarella stick, then dip it in flour, followed by the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs.
- Repeat the process until all onion rings are prepped.
- Carefully place the coated onion rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the rings and let them drain on paper towels.
Serving
- Serve hot and enjoy them while they are fresh!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within 1-2 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for approximately 10 minutes.
