Preparation
- Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat.
- Form your patties: Shape the ground beef into patties, making a small indent in the center of each to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
- Season well with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cooking
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, adjusting for your preferred doneness.
- If using cheese, add a slice on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking and close the grill lid to melt.
- Toast the buns lightly on the grill while the patties finish cooking.
Assembly
- Assemble your burger: Start with the bottom bun, add lettuce, the patties, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of sauces, then finish with the top bun.
Notes
Serve with crispy fries or a fresh side salad. For a fun twist, add avocado or a fried egg on top. Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on a skillet.
