  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Optional for heat.
  • 1 cup beef broth For cooking.

For the Sandwich

  • 8 pieces soft sandwich rolls or brioche buns Choose your preferred style.
  • 1 cup your choice of cheese Provolone or cheddar suggested.
  • 1 Pickles, onions, or other desired toppings Customize as per your taste.
  • 1 cup your favorite barbecue sauce For serving.

Preparation

  • Trim excess fat from the brisket and rub it with a blend of spices: smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until it turns brown.
  • Place the seared brisket in a slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth and cook on low for 8-10 hours until the beef is tender.

Assembly

  • Once cooked, remove the brisket and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the meat using forks.
  • Slice the rolls or brioche buns. Add a generous amount of shredded brisket, top with cheese, and add your choice of toppings.

Serving

  • Serve the sandwiches warm, with sides like coleslaw or chips.

Notes

Let the brisket rest for a few minutes after cooking for easier shredding. You can customize your spices to add more heat or flavor. For added moisture, drizzle some barbecue sauce on the brisket before serving.
