Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until creamy and smooth using an electric mixer.
- Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, beating until everything is combined.
- Slowly fold the dry flour mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Flatten each ball slightly using the bottom of a glass or your hand, then sprinkle a little sugar on top.
Baking
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn a light golden color.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
