  • 1 pound pizza dough Basic pizza dough
  • 8 ounces cooked Italian sausage, crumbled Can substitute with turkey or plant-based sausage
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Flavorful sauce for added taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Gooey cheese for pulling apart
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Drizzle over the top for flavor
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes For a bit of heat
  • Fresh basil, for garnish Add before serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it forms a large circle.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the crumbled cooked Italian sausage, marinara sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  4. Spread the sausage mixture evenly over the pizza dough.
  5. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into small squares or triangles.
  6. Stack the pieces on top of each other to form a ring shape in a greased 9-inch cake pan.
  7. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the assembled pizza ring.
Baking
  1. Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the dough turns golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  2. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

This dish is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. Pair it with a garden salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. For added fun, serve with dipping sauces like ranch or extra marinara. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days, reheating in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
